Three main premises for Bridgewater Fund's investment in Bitcoin: drop in fluctuation, enhancement of liquidity, and clear regulation.
The world's largest hedge fund Bridgewater提出三大前提条件 for Bitcoin investment
Recently, the chief investment officer of Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, elaborated on three key conditions that the company needs to meet in order to consider investing in Bitcoin during a media interview.
The primary condition is the reduction of Bitcoin volatility. Currently, the volatility of Bitcoin is about ten times that of the US dollar, and even higher than that of the Venezuelan bolívar. The director emphasized that in order for Bitcoin to become an effective tool in a diversified investment portfolio, its stability must first be improved to reduce drastic fluctuations.
Secondly, the Bitcoin market needs to have higher liquidity. The third condition is to establish a clear regulatory framework. The director pointed out that with the improvement of the regulatory ecosystem surrounding Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, it will attract a more diverse range of investors to participate, thereby enhancing market liquidity and helping to mitigate price fluctuations. She particularly emphasized that the clarity of regulation is her main concern, but it is currently unclear when the United States will be able to establish a complete regulatory system.
The research director also expressed her views on the nature of Bitcoin. She believes that Bitcoin cannot currently be regarded as a currency, but over time, it may evolve into the gold equivalent of the digital age.
It is worth mentioning that Bridgewater Associates was founded in 1975 and currently manages over $150 billion in assets. Last month, the fund's founder publicly described Bitcoin as "an extraordinary innovation" and stated that this asset class has garnered their high attention.
